This newly refurbished, large town centre hotel is located just a few minutes’ walk from the train station, and close to Chelmsford town centre.
Reach central London via a direct, 35 minute train route. Chelmsford Museum, Essex County Cricket Club, Riverside Ice and Leisure and Chelmsford Cathedral, amongst other attractions, are all within walking distance of the hotel.

Early arrivals: if your arrival is early in the day and you prefer immediate access to your room, we recommend reserving for the prior night to guarantee immediate access. If you choose not to reserve, we will be happy to store your bags for you.

Our team go to great lengths to source the best that our local and national producers have to offer, taking great care each month to ensure each and every ingredient is at the height of its growing season, but always maintaining genuine value for money.
By Car
From the M25:
- Leave the M25 at junction 28 to join the A12 towards Brentwood / A1023 / Chelmsford.
- Follow the A12 and leave at junction 15 to Chelmsford.
- Take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A414.
- Enter the next roundabout and take the second exit onto London Road (tenpin bowling alley will be on your left).
- Enter the next roundabout (Widford roundabout) and take the first exit onto Westway, signposted Widford Industrial Estate.
- Go straight through 3 sets of traffic lights (follow signs for Broomfield Hospital A&E, Civic Centre and West End).
- Westway becomes Waterhouse Lane; Waterhouse Lane becomes Rainsford Lane. As you go through the 3rd set of traffic lights, take the left-hand fork, (there are 2 lanes that go off to the left, stay in the right-hand lane).
- Head straight over to another set of traffic lights to the right (signposted railway station / West End).
- Turn right and the hotel is on your right.
